Arctic Methane Release as Fault Zones Slip - Official ADAPT 2030 Website (Keeping Your Families Reset Prepared)

Sydney Morning Herald has a spooky headline; Arctic Methane seeping from lakes and runaway global warming greenhouse gasses, oh wait, its a remote lake off the Brooks Range in Alaska's North Slope oil and gas production areas, its natural, no human casues at all.

Deflection through scary headlines: Across the Arctic lakes are leaking dangerous greenhouse gases. I think you've lost the fear that they need to re-scare you with “Greenhouse gases are dangerous; I've never seen a lake like this one!” They’ve been studying over 300 of these lakes and they only saw one, so far. Should we be extra, extra, extra scared?

The area where they found the lake? North Slope Brooks Range, an oil producing area of Alaska. Shocker, they found methane seep coming out of a lake in an oil-producing area!

Not only do they have oil and natural gas, they also have shale. The lake is in the green shaded area in the image.

Scarier headlines: sounded devices picked up huge holes at the bottom of the lake. You can actually see where the methane seep is coming out. It’s that milky-colored bubbling mass near the shore. But when they examined samples, they found them to be of geologic origin, meaning, an oil field.

How is this even making headlines? These are the oil seeps. How are they going to try to spin an oil seep in the lake that they found where methane was coming up? How does this even make headlines as a climate change article?
