Buy a $25 Myanma Post SIM card in Yangon Airport before going to town

Myanma Post IP Card 2013. Image David DuByneI have returned from the Myanmar Private Sector Investment Summit hosted in late January 2013 in Yangon, and I would suggest picking up a SIM card at the Yangon Airport before going into town. The cost is $25 USD and is good for 30 days. If you try to buy a SIM in Yangon it will range from $110-250 depending on the validity of the card. See more Images Continue.

There is no 3G service in the country and the internet is incredibly slow throughout Yangon except Traders, Chatrium and Park Royal hotels. You need to buy a coffee or tea to get 3 hours of included wi-fi in the hotel lounge or restaurant. Well worth the $5 and you can make it a place to meet others. Editor
